Guide to Disney’s Hollywood Studios Park, Orlando, FL

When most people think of the Disney parks, Hollywood Studios is one of the first that come to mind. Formally known as Disney-MGM Studios, this massive theme park is located at the world-famous Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, FL.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios Park spans more than 135 acres and features an exciting classic Hollywood movie and popular TV entertainment theme. If you’re planning a trip to the Orlando area, you may be considering a visit to Hollywood Studios. Just like in the other five parks, Hollywood Studios delivers the magic and wonder that you have come to expect from the celebrated Disney brand.

Hollywood Boulevard

When you arrive to Hollywood Studios Park, you’ll be directed through the turnstiles and onto the park’s main street, Hollywood Boulevard. This iconic street combines art deco, neon, chrome, and modern architecture to create a multi-dimensional space that intrigues the senses.

As you walk along the street, you’ll spot the Citizens of Hollywood. From 1930 scarlets and detectives to movie directors and gossip columnists, these characters entertain the crowds with fun skits and audience interactions. Soon after, you’ll spot a replica of Mann’s Chinese Theater. The location once housed The Great Movie Ride. However, today you will find Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway. Just in front of the Theater is the handprints of many famous celebrities, such as Billy Joel and Robin Williams.

Commissary Lane

Just left of the Chinese Theater is Commissary Lane. Here you’ll find a variety of dining options, such as the ABC Commissary. This quick-service restaurant offers the best international flavors and is open for lunch and dinner. You may also want to sample the cuisine at the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant. Eat your meal in a dimly lit drive-in in a booth shaped like a car. Eat your food while enjoying retro film clips.

Echo Lake

If you take the first left off of Hollywood Boulevard, you’ll run into Echo Lake. While there’s much to see and do, you’ll immediately spot the giant Dinosaur Gertie upon arrival. This is where you can grab a delicious snack or dessert. This area is also home to several other eateries, such as Hollywood & Vine and the ’50s Prime Time Café.

In addition to eating, guests can enjoy a live show. Follow the lake to the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular. With death-defying stunts and endless adventure, the show will leave you wanting more. The Star Tours – The Adventurer Continues is also nearby. Enjoy a 3D journey to various Star Wars destinations, many featuring the Star Wars characters you have come to know and love.

Sunset Boulevard

If you make a right off of Hollywood Boulevard, you’ll land on Sunset Boulevard. This is where you’ll find countless specialty shops, Disney characters running amok and the amazing nighttime show Fantasmic. At the end of Sunset Boulevard is the Hollywood Tower Hotel. If you have the courage, venture into The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. Just adjacent to the Tower is the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith.
